WASHINGTON — Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) announced that Goodwill Industries of Kentucky will receive a $3,995,264 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Funded through the DOL’s Pathway Home 4 program, this grant will expand Goodwill Industries’ critical work in helping individuals transition from incarceration to self-sustaining, employed citizens.
Specifically, this program will provide 400 incarcerated adults in Kentucky Department of Corrections facilities with pre-release job training and supportive services. These individuals will also have access to post-release services, including placement assistance, barrier removal resources, and intensive career coaching conducive to sustained full-time improvement.
“I am proud to have supported this grant that will allow Goodwill Industries of Kentucky to expand their crucial efforts in assisting individuals as they transition from incarceration to reintegrating into society,” said Congressman Andy Barr. “By offering comprehensive support and training, we are investing in the future potential of these Kentuckians, removing barriers and promoting meaningful change.”
